Methanol crossover and selectivity of nafion/heteropolyacid/montmorillonite nanocomposite proton exchange membranes for DMFC applications
In this work, we prepared the nafion/montmorillonite/heteropolyacid nanocomposite membranes for direct methanol fuel cells (DMFCs). The analyses such as X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier transform infrared (FTIR), and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) were conducted to characterize the filler dispersion and membrane structure in prepared nanocomposite membranes. XRD patterns of nafion-CsPW-MMT ...
متن کاملNovel PVA/La2Ce2O7 hybrid nanocomposite membranes for application in proton exchange membrane fuel cells
Proton exchange membrane fuel cells (PEMFCs) are electrochemical devices that show the highest power densities compared to the other type of fuel cell. In this work, nanocomposite membranes used for proton exchange membrane fuel cells as poly(vinyl alcohol)/La2Ce2O7 (PVA-LC) with the aim of increasing the water uptake and proton conductivity. Glutaraldehyde (GA) was used as cross linking agent ...
متن کاملThroughput for Steel Pipes Manufacturing Process Design
To increase productivity, new automatic production lines are introduced driven by adequate computer hardware and software. While determining production process characteristics for building complex product such as steel vessel, special consideration is given to dimensioning and defining capacity of production equipment and working places. Process characteristics should accomplish building and ou...
متن کاملA new supramolecular sulfonated polyimide for use in proton exchange membranes for fuel cells.
Uracil-terminated telechelic sulfonated polyimides (SPI-U) were transformed into noncovalent network membranes through biocomplementary hydrogen bonding recognition in the presence of an adenine-based crosslinking agent. SPI-U membrane exhibited dramatically improved methanol permeability, oxidative stability, proton conductivity, and selectivity relative to those of the standard SPI.
متن کاملA new supramolecular sulfonated polyimide for use in proton exchange membranes for fuel cellsw
Nonfluorinated polymeric materials are attracting increasing attention as alternatives to perfluorinated polymer membranes, such as Nafion or Aciplex, for use as proton exchange membranes (PEMs) in fuel cells, because of their advantages in terms of cost, monomer toxicity, ease of synthesis, and structural diversity. Although nonfluorinated PEMs can achieve high proton conductivities when they ...
